Prawns Curry

Prawns is my favorite sea food. King Prawns is cherished in a variety of tasty dishes but prawns curry is an exclusive dish.
And above all it is so easy to cook :) that it becomes the obvious choice.

Recipe followed:

Ingredients:

250 gms King Prawns
2 big onions
1 big potato
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chilli powder
1 medium size garlic
1 tsp dhaniya powder
salt to taste.
2 large tsp oil to cook.

Procedure:

1) Wash and clean the prawns with water. Add some salt and lemon to the water to remove the smell.
2) Next make a horizontal cut in the back of each prawn to remove the black color thread like sticky substance. Do this for each prawn, This is very important cleaning process to be followed while making any type of prawns recipe.
3) Next in a pan add the oil and saute the onions till they turn pinkish.
4) Add tomatoes, peeled and crushed garlic, potato, red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder. Saute for 10 mins till the rawness of tomatoes subsides.
5) Next add the washed, cleaned prawns and salt as per taste. Add some water. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 20 mins on low flame. Keep stirring occasionally to avoid the masala sticking to the pan.
6) Serve Hot.
